Obituary of Margaret Cheek Witt

Margaret Cheek Witt, 85 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on Wednesday, December 30, 1931  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Joseph Garland Cheek and Judson Oveta Fuqua Cheek.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Eldon Witt.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Witt Aagaard & husband, Leif, Jr. of Amherst; her son, Barry Eldon Witt of Bedford; two grandsons, Leif  Aagaard III & wife, Brittany of Lynchburg, Jonathan Witt of Bedford; her brother, William T. Cheek of Bedford; her sister, Mae Cheek Karnes & husband, Ray of Bedford; her sister-in-law, Ouida Witt of Bedford as well as numerous nieces & nephews.  

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
