Obituary of Helen St. Clair Howell

Helen St. Clair Howell, 79 of  Huddleston, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her residence.  She was born on Monday, August 23, 1937  in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Guy St. Clair and Quita Foutz St. Clair.  She was retired from the Lane Company, a 26 year member of the Huddleston Lifesaving Crew and a member of Palestine Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee Howell; her daughters, Sharon Cox & husband, Danny of Roanoke, Sylvia Smith & husband, Phillip of Altavista; her son, Gary Michael Howell of Huddleston; her brother, Berkley St. Clair & wife, Leona of Lynch Station as well as ten grandchildren & eighteen great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Dr. Kevin King officiating.  Interment will follow in the Palestine Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service,  Huddleston.
