Obituary of Kristie Arthur Payne

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, Kristie Arthur  Payne, 41 of Moneta, VA went to be with our Lord and Savior.  She was born on Tuesday, May 4, 1976 in Lynchburg, a daughter of John Hill Arthur who survives.  She was born with Asthma and fought it all of her life.  She would never quit and always brightened every room.  You could always count on her for a good laugh and was always hollering at her sons on the ball field.

In addition to her father & his wife, Linda, those left to cherish her memory are her husband of twenty-two years, Andrew Payne; three loving and wonderful sons, Dustin Payne, Dakota Payne, Dylan Payne; her brothers, Jay Arthur, Chris Davis; her sister, Cindy Green; her sister by heart, Jeanette Martin as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.  

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Moneta Fire Department, P. O. Box 455, Moneta, VA 24121 or the Moneta Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 497, Moneta, VA 24121.  The family also wishes to thank Dr. Brandon Cox and the UVA Pulmonary Department for their care.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Emmaus United Methodist Church, 2282 Meador Spur Road, Moneta, VA 24121 with Rev. Rick Barton officiating.  Interment will follow in Emmaus United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Emmaus United Methodist Church.   Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
