Obituary of Thomas Booker Goggin

Thomas Booker Goggin, 81 of  Bedford, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center.  He was born on Thursday, April 2, 1936  in Bedford County, a son of the late Harry Snead Goggin and Maude Irene Lazendy Goggin.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara Elizabeth Brown Goggin and his brother-in-law, Wallace Morgan who passed on the same day.  He was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Wilson's United Methodist Church.  

He is survived by his daughter, Margie G. Mattox & husband, Jeff of Bedford, his special grandson, Jordan Dale Mattox of Bedford;  special friends, Sheila Thomasson of Bedford, Jessie Craghead of Bedford; his sister, Betty Morgan of Bedford; sisters-in-law, Hazel Payne & husband, Thomas of Moneta, Nancy Phelps & husband, Wayne of Concord.  

The family would like to thank the staff of Oakwood Health & Rehab. for their special care while Booker was a resident.  

Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery on 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 with Pastor Russ Alden officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
