Obituary of John Davis Walker

John Davis Walker, 89 of  Moneta, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at  his residence.  He was born on Thursday, September 29, 1927  in Bedford County, a son of the late Jessie Allen Walker and Viola Crouch Walker.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Epperly Walker.  He was a retired employee of Rubatex Corporation.

He is survived by his son, Roger Davis Walker & wife, Martha Ann of Moneta; his daughter, Robin Elizabeth West & husband, Phillip of Gretna; his grandchildren, Jesse Davis Walker, Daniel Eugene Lyle, Nicole Frances Vassallo, seven great grandchildren; his sisters, Nannie Overstreet, Hazel Myers & husband, Marshall both of Huddleston.  

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Radford Baptist Church, 1293 Radford Church Road, Moneta, VA 24121.  

The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Radford Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Karl Hofheinz officiating.  Interment will follow in Walker Family Cemetery, Airport Road, Huddleston.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
