Obituary of Paula Mae Cox Wood

Paula Cox Wood, 64 of Lynch Station, VA passed away Monday, August 21, 2017.  She was born on Saturday, May 16, 1953, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Thomas Cox and Ruby Mattox Cox.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Terry Cox and her sisters, Mary Wood, and Rachel Lloyd. She was a retired clerk at Klopman Mills, and a member of Leesville United Methodist Church and Ruritans of Motley. 

She is survived by her husband, Walter Dean Wood of Lynch Station; sons, Kevin Wayne Cox of Lynch Station, Mark Wood of Altavista, Everette Wood, Richard Wood both of Evington; daughters, Lelia Bryant of Forest, Melissa Stapleton of Altavista;  brothers, Danny Cox of Roanoke, Robert Cox of Gretna, Roger Cox of Lynch Station, Roy Mattox of Lynchburg, Frank Cox of Motley, Willie Cox of Evington; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paula Wood Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston, with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2017 beginning at 12:30 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
