Obituary of Carl Wayne Jenkins, Sr.

Carl   Jenkins, 77 of  Blairs, VA passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at  his residence.  He was born on Sunday, July 14, 1940  in Bedford, VA, a son of the late Herbert Carl Jenkins  and Minnie Pearl Jenkins .  He was also preceded in death by a son, Carl Wayne Jenkins, Jr.

He was a Mechanic at Blyth Construction Company.   He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Roop Jenkins of Salem, VA; a daughter, Bonny Whitaker of Blairs, VA; 5 step-children; a sister, Joyce Ann Jenkins; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews; special friends, Billy Ray Lewis and Barry "Cherokee" Burks.

A Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  
Interment will follow at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The Family will receive friends Monday, October 23, 2017,  from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. prior to the service.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
