Margaret Williams McLaughlin, 85 of Moneta, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Wednesday, September 30, 1925 in Laurel, MD, a daughter of the late Jennings Bryan Williams and Mary Margaret Wiscoski Williams. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Warren McLaughlin and two sisters, Helen Wachter and Lennie Burks. She was a retired secretary with the U. S. Department of Agriculture and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Surviving is her husband, James Warren McLaughlin; four daughters, Sharon O'Neil of Powhatan, Jean Marie McLaughlin of Nakusp, British Columbia, Mary Freedman & husband, Eugene of Roanoke, Kathleen McLaughlin & husband, Lee Offen of Springfield; two sisters, Janet Slaby & husband, Tom of Beltsville, MD, Joan Krob of Greenbelt, MD; three brothers, George W. Williams & wife, Martha of Dallastown, PA, Paul Williams & wife, Barbara, Charles Williams & wife, Theresa, all of Beltsville, MD, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or Shriners Children's Hospital, Atlanta, GA. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Father Salvador Añonuevo officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
