Virginia Diane Myers Greenway, 61, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thursday, March 31, 1949 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late James K. Thornhill and Vivian June Myers Thornhill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Greenway, a son, James Emmett Greenway, a daughter, Tequita Greenway, two brothers, Bruce Decker and Ronnie Mitchell, and a sister, Linda Johns. She is survived two sons, Troy D. Greenway & wife Sandra, and Robert W. Greenway of Moneta; four brothers, Michael Mitchell, Florida, George Thornhill, Richard Thornhill, and Collin Ballard, all of Roanoke; a sister, Brenda Johns, Roanoke; a brother-in-law, Johnny Greenway, Bassett; also seven grandchildren. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider donations to Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, P.O. Box 926, Bedford, VA 24523 to help defray funeral expenses. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Updike Funeral Chapel with the Rev. K.B. Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, July 12, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Bedford.
