Karen Sjogren Henson, 57 of Moneta, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born on Saturday, September 14, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of Paul F. Sjogren and Marilyn Gustafson Sjogren of Long Island, NY, who survive. She was a Senior Administrative Assistant with Tri-County Lake and was a member of Radford Baptist Church. In addition to her father & mother, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Alan Henson; her son, Stephen Wright of Moneta; her daughter, Kathryn McNeal & husband, Chris of Chamblissburg; step-son, Cameron Henson of Roanoke; brother, Daniel Sjogren of St. James, NY; sister, Jane Candela & husband, Peter of Riverhead, NY; nephews, Peter & Andrew Candela; mother-in-law, Patty Collins of Salem; brothers-in-law, Claude Henson & wife, Vicky of Salem, John Henson & wife, Becky of Goodview. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 10:00 am at Radford Baptist Church with Rev. Rich Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 PM at Radford Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
