Obituary of Clement Joseph Gribble

Clement J. Gribble, 91 of Huddleston, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Clem was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was an avid hunter and competitive shooter and a life member of the VFW and a Patron member of the NRA. Clem was a certified hunter safety course instructor and a youth small bore rifle safety instructor. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Anna Gribble. He is survived by his daughters, Sara Fackina & husband, Robert of Huddleston, Lucy Gribble of Moneta, Grandchildren, Stacy Snyder, Michael Garst both of Salem, Travis Snyder & Brittney Lawhorn both of Vinton, Charles J. Snyder of Moneta, Jenny Garst; two great-grandchildren, Bradyn Garst, Paisley Rae Snyder, companions, Tucker, Chloe & Gunner. The family would like to personally thank the doctors and ICU staff of Bedford Memorial Hospital and the Bedford Hospice Care staff for their care and compassion. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to in Clem's memory to the Huddleston Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Riley Smith officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
