James Ballard Davis, 70 of Huddleston, VA passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, May 14, 1944 in Kellysville, WV, a son of the late Alvis Clinton Davis and Gladys Brown Davis Agee. He was retired from General Electric and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Surviving are his wife, June Gillaspie Davis; two daughters, Cynthia D. Luper & husband, Charles of Magnolia, TX, Laurie A. Goad & husband, John of Salem; grandchildren, Joshua Charles Luper, Alan Joseph Luper, Carrie Lynn Davis & fiance, Daniel Schetrompf; two sisters, Erika Rochelle & husband, William of Brenham, TX, Drema Lucas & husband, Gary of Show Low, AZ; a brother, Wayne Davis of Rocky Mount. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital in James B. Davis name. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at New Zion Cemetery, Princeton, WV on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Roger Hatfield officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
