Faye Nichols Stevens, 92 of Lynch Station, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Wednesday, February 28, 1923 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Robert Luther Nichols and Eva Witt Nichols. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carlton David Stevens, Sr. She was a member of Mentow Baptist Church and was retired from Leggett Department Store in Altavista. Surviving is her daughter, Susan S. Oliver of Gulf Breeze, FL; her son, Carl D. Stevens & wife, Sandy of Lynch Station; grandchildren, Matthew Stevens, Jessica Stevens, Ian Oliver as well as great-grandchildren, Bryan & Joshua Stevens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 10 AM and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
