Irene "GiGi" Wills Eckart, 94 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Berkshire Nursing Home. She was born on Friday, September 10, 1920 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Charlie Melson Wills and Bertha Jane Bowling Wills. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Fred M. Callahan, her second husband, Edward Paul Eckart and a son, Fred "Butch" Callahan. She was retired from Rubatex and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda C. Eckart of Bedford; her grandchildren, Paul F. Eckart, Mike M. Eckart, Ronnie L. Eckart, Tammy Halliwill, Christie Callahan, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or go to www.stjude.org. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11:00 am Rev. Timmy Dooley. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
