Marjorie Louise Vaughn Witt Murray, 75 of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 31, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 6, 1940 in Ocoee, FL, a daughter to the late Earl K. and Vera Mae Vaughn. She was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Donald G. Witt, Jr. and brother “Buddy” Vaughn. Marjorie was a dedicated member of Pecks Baptist Church, Bedford. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was loved dearly by her family and friends. She had various jobs throughout her life but her career was her home and family. Her greatest gift was that of caregiver to many, which she instilled in her children. She enjoyed life, laughter, and love which she shared with her family and friends. She is survived by her second husband, Kenneth E. Murray of Bedford; her daughter Terry Evans and husband, Lowell of Huddleston; her son Donald G. Witt, III and wife, Tonya of Concord; her daughter Jo Ellen Burnette and husband, Monty of Evington; her three grandchildren Leah Maslen and husband, Jared, Jason Evans and wife, Merry, and Matthew Burnette; her three great-granddaughters Rachel Maslen, Sarah Maslen, and Payton Evans; her brother “Donnie” Vaughn and wife, Judy, her sister Laura Howard; as well as other family and friends. The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Dr. Kurt Hubach, Dr. Peter Betz, Centra Bedford Hospice, and a special thank you to Mary “Sissy” Parker. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Pecks Baptist Church, Bedford with Pastor Bryan Sheehan officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Evington. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 3, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Pecks Baptist Church, 1020 Pecks Road, Bedford. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider contributing to Gideon International or Centra Bedford Hospice. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Huddleston.
