Mark Eric Shelor, 57 of Boones Mill, was sent home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2015. He was born on Wednesday, February 12, 1958 in Blacksburg, a son of the late Frank Shelor and Annie Sloan Shelor . He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Shelor. He had an artistic talent of painting billboards, loved racing his dirt bike and was a true friend to all he loved. He loved the outdoors and the beauty of the mountains that surround us. His biggest passion was providing for his wife and riding his Suzuki V-Storm on pretty days. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Patterson Shelor; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Jack & Carolyn Patterson, brother-in-law, Eric Patterson & wife, Christine & their precious sons, Ian & Colin Patterson. He is also survived by numerous relatives that he loved so much along with the dearest of friends who were all like family. He touched so many lives and will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved him. Many thanks to all of his supportive friends and especially my brother who helped so much during this difficult time. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Nicopolis United Methodist Church, 1158 Nicopolis Drive, Bedford, VA 24253 with Pastor Jim Steele officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
