William Gary Bowling, 56 of Thaxton, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, April 2, 1959 in Bedford County, a son of the late William P. Bowling and Mary Callahan Bowling. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Aubrey Eugene Bowling and Alton Sidney Bowling
He is survived by his sons, William Andrew Bowling, Jesse Lee Bowling both of Moneta; his fiance, Frances Myers of Thaxton; ex-wife, Paula Bowling of Moneta; a sister, Vicki Elmore & husband, Roger of Thaxton, his brothers, Bobby Bowling & wife, Brenda, Berkley Bowling & wife, Barbara, all of Thaxton; Sam Douglas Myers of Thaxton, who was like a son as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Kyle Dooley officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday beginning at 5 PM and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
