Bettye Carter Wallace, 75 of Lynch Station, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at Liberty Ridge Health & Rehab. Center. She was born on Wednesday, August 7, 1940 in Birmingham, AL, a daughter of the late Norman Troupe Carter, Sr. and Mildred Christine Gannaway Carter. She was a retired school teacher and was a member of Leesville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, William James Wallace, Jr.; her son, Christopher Scott Wallace & wife, Denise of New York City, NY; her daughter, Wendy Leigh Townsend & husband, Walter Hamill of Falls Church; two grandchildren, Avery Taylor Townsend, Vivian Belle Wallace as well as her brother, Norman Troupe Carter, Jr. of Bouse, AZ. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
