Anemerald "Emma" Phillips Woodford, 85 of Huddleston, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was born on Friday, January 30, 1931, a daughter of the late Oscar Leftwich Phillips and Lucy Miear Phillips . She was also preceded in death by brothers, Lee E. Phillips, Thornton A. Phillips, Thomas E. Phillips, Jack L. Phillips and sisters, Betty B. Phillips and Mary P. Tyree. She is survived by her husband, Fred Rudolph Woodford of Huddleston; a sister, Catherine V. Phillips; a special friend, Carolyn Martin and numerous nieces & nephews. She was a retired employee of C. B. Fleet and a member of Mentow Baptist Church where she sang in the Joy Group Choir. She was also a member of Huddleston's Senior Group. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Soult and the Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. There will be no visitation. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery or Bedford Hospice Care. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
