Obituary of Robert Horace Hannabass

On Sunday, May 22, 2016, Robert Horace "Bobby" Hannabass, 84 of Goodview, passed away. He was born on Saturday, August 29, 1931 in Bedford County, a son of the late Robert Clyde Hannabass and Lallie McLain Hannabass. He served and retired as Postmaster of Goodview, VA and was a lifelong beef cattle farmer. His most enjoyable years were owning and operating Goodview Grocery. He was a member of Goodview Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy Burnette Hannabass; his daughter, Margaret H. Pagans & husband, Gary; his son, Terry R. Hannabass & wife, Drexan all of Goodview. Robert cherished his special granddaughter, Lallie Grace Hannabass. He is also survived by his sister, Joan H. Crouch of Bedford. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Brian Barlow, 1345 Waterford Road, Moneta, VA 24121. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Goodview Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Phillips & Rev. Rucker Burnette officiating. Interment will follow in Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
