George Landon Walker, 74 of Bedford, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, December 17, 1941 in Bedford County, a son of the late George Washington Walker and Louise Webber Walker. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Cooper.
He was retired from Witt Wholesale and was a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church & Bedford Moose Lodge # 1897.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Pugh Walker; a daughter, Mary Catherine Goff & husband, Danny of Sedalia; his grandchildren, Dustin Goff & wife, Sam, Jessica Wilson & husband, Cory, C. J. Goff & fiance, Amy Blackman; great-grandchildren, Jackson Goff, Noah Wilson, Rosemary Goff, Jamison Wilson; his brother-in-law, Bob Cooper of Abingdon; nephews, Robert Cooper & wife, Shelia, Al Cooper & wife, Kristi, as well as two great nephews & two great nieces.
The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford Centra Hospice, P. O. Box 688, Bedford, VA 24523.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery at 2 PM on Sunday, July 31, 2016 with Rev. Vernon Delong & Wayne Witt officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
