Audrey Angel Witt, 94 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Thursday, October 12, 1922 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Augustus McCabe Angel and Nellie Esther Witt Angel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Martin Witt.
She was a member of Ephesus United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Nellie W. Martin of Bedford, Deborah W. Updike & husband, George of Bedford; her sons, Neal M. Witt & wife, Denise of Bedford, Eric H. Witt & wife, Donna of Bedford; her sister, Emily A. Citty of Bedford as well as ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the Alzheimer's Association, 1022 Commerce Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504 or Ephesus United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Pete & Donna Phillips, 2554 Otter Hill Road, Bedford, VA 24523
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Ephesus United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Viemeister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
