Ellie Mae Pond Bryant, 94 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in the Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born August 9, 1922 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Robert W. Pond and Cora Lee Tolley Pond. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Alvin Bryant and a son, James Edward Bryant. She was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Billy Lee (Mary) Bryant; Thomas Wayne (Rachel) Bryant; Michael Dean (Sandra) Bryant; Steven Lewis (Lisa) Bryant; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church and a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Phillip Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
