Mary Lacy Overstreet, 93 of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Sunday, December 16, 1923 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Reeves McKinnley Lacy and Myrtle Swain Lacy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Overstreet, three brothers & seven sisters & her son-in-law, Alvin Sexton.
She was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Wilson United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Faye Sexton, Margaret Walker & husband, Bobby, Lisa Overstreet all of Bedford; her son, Dennis Overstreet & wife, Sharon of Bedford; her granddaughter, Mandy Overstreet Johnson & husband, Brad; her grandson, Kevin Seay & wife, Elizabeth, three great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, & a special friend, Angela Reynolds.
Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice & Dr. Kurt Hubach for their care & concern our mother received.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Russ Alden officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 11AM and until the time of the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
