Jack Edward Patterson, Jr., 87 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Oakwood Health & Rehab. Center. He was born on Tuesday, February 25, 1930 in Bedford County, a son of the late Jack E. Patterson, Sr. and Annie McFall Patterson. He was retired from the Rubatex Corporation with 40 years of service, was a member of VFW Post # 2157, Elks Lodge # 321, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of Nicopolis United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Louise Carwile Patterson; his son, Eris S. Patterson & wife, Christine; his daughter, Ginger P. Shelor; two grandsons, Ian & Colin Patterson; his brother, Claude H. Patterson & wife, Annie Jean and his sisters, Joyce P. Laughlin & Faye P. Shaner. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Nicopolis United Methodist Church Cemetery or your favorite charity. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Nicopolis United Methodist Church and a graveside will follow at 1:00 PM in the church cemetery with Rev. Jerry Viemeister officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
