Obituary of Charles Hunter Ferguson, Jr.

Charles Hunter Ferguson Jr., 57 of Roanoke died Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018 in Roanoke, Va. He was born on May 30, 1961 to Loretta M. Cheek of Huddleston and the late Charles H. Ferguson, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother and granddad, Florine W. and Willie E. Nuckolds, and his step-father, Edward M. Cheek.  

Charles was a friend to many and loved by everyone he met. He was a dedicated Papa Bear, father, grandfather and son. He lived a life of service and always put others before himself. He was a volunteer with the Huddleston Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad for ­­over 15 years. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen Hubbard Ferguson; son, Nathan Hubbard Ferguson & daughter-in-law, Brandi; daughter, Jennie Renee Ferguson; three grandchildren, Hayden, Julien and Emma; his brother, Michael Ferguson; his sisters, Kimberly Oakes, Cynthia Carter, Cynthia Ferguson as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a memorial service will follow at 2:30 PM in the chapel with Rev. Tammy Franklin officiating.
