Florence Felty Blount, 95 of Bedford and Roanoke, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Friday, February 12, 1915 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Nathaniel Brown Felty and Ola Overstreet Felty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Garnet Blount, a brother, Nathaniel Brown Felty and a sister, Mary Felty Walters. She was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church for over seventy years and is presently a member of Word of Life Evangelical Church in Bedford. Surviving is her daughter, Justine Blount Cutler & husband, Joseph H. Jr. of Bedford; a son, James Nathaniel Blount & wife, Ann of NC; five grandchildren, Cherie Whitehurst & husband, David, Kenneth H. Cutler & wife, Lisa, Michael W. Cutler & wife, Angie, Jeffrey B. Cutler & wife, Kelly all of Bedford, Wendy Blount Stringer & husband, Blake of Cleveland, OH, and ten great grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Word of Life Evangelical Church, P. O. Box 1214, Bedford, VA 24523. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Word of Life Evangelical Church with Rev. David A. Whitehurst and Rev. Walter A. Whitehurst offiiciating. Interment will be at 2:30 PM in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.
