Eleanor Marie Rose Gendron, 85, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, June 15, 1938 to the late Harold Eugene Rose & Etta Louise Lewis Rose. Eleanor was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Allen Gendron.

Eleanor was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and enjoyed online coloring books. Eleanor loved spending time with her family and enjoyed babies and children, she never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin J. Gendron; sons, Douglas Arnold Gendron & wife, Cynthia, Robert Wayne Gendron & wife, Rena; brothers, Charles Eugene Rose & Roger William Rose; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Sedalia Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Jones officiating.
