Kathy “Gram” Motto, 75, of Moneta, Virginia, formerly of Chapmanville, West Virginia, passed away peacefully, into the arms of our lord, on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Lynchburg General Hospital. She has been joyfully reunited with her late son, Andy Motto III and great granddaughter Mayven Weddle.

Gram leaves behind her devoted husband of 58 years, Andy Motto, and a family that was her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her children, Timmy (Rhea) Motto, Andrea (Jon) Maddox, and Hollie (Jason) Collins, as well as her cherished grandchildren: The three OGs, Susan (Aaron) Burnette ,Joshua (Caila) Motto, Aaron (Eva) Motto as well as Allison (Matthew) Mayo, Halee (Matthew) Weddle, Andie (Anthony) Rezzonico, Sara Maddox and Morgan (Logan) Collins, A.J. Motto. Gram also adored her great-grandchildren: Addie, Evie, Sophie, Calvin, Raylan, and Jessie. She is also survived by her siblings: Jeannie Riley, Sherri Martin, and Scottie Martin.

Gram never met a stranger and took joy in caring for others. Whether it was cooking, gardening, baking, flowers, sewing, cleaning, canning, organizing, or indulging in a little shopping on amazon, Gram’s energy and warmth touched everyone she met. She also enjoyed staying connected with friends and family on Facebook during her free time. 

In lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family will host a celebration of life in Gram’s honor on Friday, January 31st, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at her home (1060 Cranberry Court, Moneta). All friends and family are welcome.
