Mary Ellen Fariss Carson, 98 of Harrisonburg & formerly of Bedford, passed away Saturday, February 1,2025 at Sunnyside Retirement Community. She was born March 18, 1926, in Bedford, VA, a daughter of the late Elton Price Fariss and Lillie Richardson Fariss. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William F. Carson; brothers, James, Henry & Claude Fariss; sister, Alta Pugh.
Mary was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church, Pecks Baptist Church and Bedford Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Vickie Lynn Overstreet (John), Linda C. Combs (Randy); son, William (Bill) Franklin Carson, Jr. (Suzanne); granddaughters, Emily Ryan (Thomas), Carson Glossop (Simon), McKenzie Dean (Cameron); grandsons, Hunter Overstreet (Jennifer), Nicklaus Combs (Hannah), Adrian Carson (Camille); great- grandson, Wilkes Price; great- granddaughter, Garland Price.
