Obituary of Thomas Vincent Clark, Jr.
Thomas Vincent Clark, Jr of Roanoke, VA passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He was born on Friday, October 23, 1953 in Richmond, VA, son of Thomas V Clark, Sr and Mary Elizabeth Clark. He is survived by his father, Thomas V. Clark, Sr.; three brothers, J. Kevin Clark of Copley, OH, Brian J. Clark and wife Mary Jo Clark of Georgetown, SC, Jeffrey G. Clark of Fairfax Station, VA.
Tom’s anchoring hometowns were Charleston SC, Vienna VA, Bedford, VA and Roanoke, VA. He personally and enthusiastically embraced each of those communities and the friends he made there.
Tom attended Bishop England High School (Charleston, SC) and Oakton High School (Oakton, VA) where Tom enjoyed participating in Band for the music and friendships it provided. Tom attended Auburn University and kept that experience always close to his heart (“War Eagle”). His ROTC summer cruise of the Med was special to him. An avid reader, Tom’s constant passion was the search for knowledge. History was his favorite, but it seemed that he had depth of knowledge in the spectrum of many subjects. Tom was Master-level when playing the Trivial Pursuit and Jeopardy style games. In the latest years, Tom rounded his life by starting new ventures into cooking and travel.
But of all things about Tom was his dedication to his parents. Throughout time, he was the brother that always stayed close to Mom and Dad, assisting daily and attending to their wants. His many years of this genuine friendship, selflessness, and love is held in the greatest respect by his brothers.
In honor of Tom's life please consider making a donation to Friends of the Library, Roanoke County Public Library, 6303 Merriman Road, Roanoke, VA 24018.
