Obituary of Robert Eugene Smith, Jr.

Robert Eugene Smith, Jr., 84 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his residence.  He was born July 17, 1940, a son of the later Robert Eugene Smith, Sr. & Minnie Bohn Smith.  He was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

He was retired from Bedford Weaving Mill.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.   

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Snead Smith; two sons, Keith Smith (Misty), Ricky Smith (Deborah); daughter, Debra Smith Hodges; grandson, Robert Curtis Smith (Ellen); great grandson, Gabriel Allen Smith; furbaby, Petey.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the chapel with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
