Melvin Albert "Jake" Overstreet, 98 of  Bedford passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Cardinal Senior Living.  He was born on Tuesday, September 21, 1926  in Bedford,  a son of the late William A. Overstreet  and Mary Milton Overstreet.  He was also preceded in death by 12 siblings.  He was a  member of  Hickory Grove Community Church and a Veteran of the U.S Army having served in  World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Kathleen Holland Overstreet; his sons, Tommy R. Overstreet and Steven W. Overstreet (Jeanette);  his grandsons, Ryan A. Overstreet (Mary Beth) and Morgan H. Overstreet; his granddaughter, Leigh A. Rittenhouse (Brian); great-granddaughter, Ana Rose Rittenhouse and great-grandson, Beau Rittenhouse.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025  at 2:00 pm at  Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. William Clark officiating.  There is no visitation.
