Janet C. Zimmerman, 76 of Bedford, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025.  She was born in Bedford County on Tuesday, August 3, 1948, to the late Carl and Lois Gray.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Gray and a sister Louise Brammer. 

She is survived by her husband, Vincent Zimmerman of 35 years; a daughter, Tina Carter-Weatherman (Larry); step-daughter, Leslie Pendleton (Travis); grandchildren, Jeff Carter (Taylor), Dustin Orange (Kim), Jamie Jessee (Andrew); step-grandchild, Eli Pendleton (Allyson); great-grandchild, Madelyn Orange and one on the way; step-great-grandchildren, Nova Morris & Zayne Bailey; sister Sharon Brammer of Kentucky; numerous nieces & nephews and many close friends.

She retired from Bedford County School Systems with 31 years as a Teacher's Aide.  She loved all the children at Huddleston Elementary School.

She enjoyed vacationing at Pigeon Forge each year and she loved attending Bluegrass Festivals.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. prior to the service.
