Obituary of Stuart Ray Davis
Stuart Ray Davis, 63, of Big Island, passed away on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 after a long illness. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Austin Davis.
Stuart is survived by his wife of 35 years, Angela Davis; a daughter, Leslie Marie Davis (Daniel) and a son, William Ethan Davis (Rachel) and our beloved shih tzu, Benji. Also surviving are his mother, Mary Carter Davis Wagoner (Allen); his brothers, Wayne Ellis Davis and Carter Davies; and sisters, Mary Anne Budworth (Bruce) and Ashley Marie Pickeral (Randy). He also had one surviving aunt, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Stuart loved and was most proud of his family. He loved to hunt and fish, his work with Watts Petroleum and his vegetable gardens. He would have numerous gardens and would sell his produce on weekends, a social event of sorts. He was kind and would help anyone he could but was not one to be taken advantage of. He loved to joke and tease, and his smile would light up a room. He always spoke his mind and didn’t shy away from having a good time. Stuart was brilliant and even today, teachers or people from school still recall his intelligence. Stuart was also the King of finding a deal and do it yourself.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Sedalia Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
The family would like to offer special thanks to his Hospice Nurse and CNA – Kristen and Valerie and to his Oakwood Nurses and CNA – Lydia, Julie, Taylor, Irish and Leah.
