







Obituary of Reginald Eugene Thompson
Reginald "Reggie" Eugene Thompson, 62 of Goodview, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born August 18, 1962 in Roanoke, a son of Mildred Marie Steele Thompson of Roanoke and the late Roger Eugene Thompson.
He was a truck driver with D. M. Bowman Trucking and attended Diamond Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomason Thompson; his son, R. J. Thompson (Jennifer); his daughter, Heather Thompson; a grandson, Eli Thompson; a brother, Daryl Thompson and his sister, Dawn Thompson (Tom); a friend, Charles Shumaker. He also leaves behind numerous friends.
He was a beloved husband, father, pawpaw, son, brother, and friend. He leaves a legacy known for kindness, love, and compassion, having never met a stranger. He has always fought and stood firm for his family remaining devoted to their needs. His memory and light will shine forever in those he’s left behind. To know him was to love him.
Though our grief is immense, we take solace in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before him.
The family would like to thank Dr. Travis Neuberger for his care of support of Reginald and his family during his illness.

A service to celebrate the life of Reginald will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Tucker LaForce officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
