Edith Louise Byrd, 85 of Moneta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Born on July 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lowry and Gladys Delong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Davis “CD” Byrd; son, Dale Byrd; daughters, Debbie Byrd and Donna Byrd Morgan; brothers, Herman Delong, Ralph Delong and Jimmy Delong; sister, Mary Delong Garland. After retiring from Rubatex Corp., Louise enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, traveling in her RV to fiddler’s conventions, and spoiling her grandkids.

Surviving are her son, Donald Byrd (Anita); son-in-law, Donnie Morgan; grandchildren, Christie Deardorff (Jeff), Brandon Byrd (Victoria), Jonathan Morgan (Amber), Gunnar Byrd (Kristin Fultz), Dakota “Cody” Byrd (Violet Jacobs); great-grandchildren, Zachary Byrd, Ethan Deardorff, Tenslee Byrd, Ryleigh Byrd, Mason Deardorff, Peighton Byrd, Connor Morgan, Parker Byrd, Carter Byrd, Wyatt Byrd, Trevor Morgan, and Laramie Byrd; brothers, Ray Delong (Marcella), John Delong (Marie), Danny Delong (Charlona); sister, Cathie Overstreet; sister-in-law, Reva Delong; brother-in-law, James Garland; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends.

She was a beloved mom, grandma, granny, sister, and friend who was a pillar of strength for her family. She was unwavering in her family devotion and always put their needs above her own. While our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing she rests peacefully, reunited with loved ones who passed before her.

The family would like to thank Nayar Hospice for their special care of Louise, our cherished mom and granny, over the last couple of weeks.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Updike Funeral Home Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. in the chapel with Rev.
