Betty Arline Whorley Wilson Obituary
Betty Arline Wilson, 86, of Thaxton, Va, passed away, Monday, June 23, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born Saturday, August 6,1938 in Bedford Co, a daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson Whorley and Nannie Spence Whorley. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Wilson; second husband, Lyle Messer; granddaughters, Tracy Harris & Faith Wilson.
Betty was a long-time member of Union Church where she also sang in the choir. She was a very strong woman.
Surviving are her children, Patsy Harris (Larry), Danny Wilson (Sylvia), Doug Wilson (Tammy) & Lynn Witt (Chuckie); nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren & one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Curtis Whorley; sisters, Doris Thomas & Helen Moore.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford w2ith Pastor Steve Kidd officiating, Interment will follow in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
