Wayne Ellis Davis Obituary

Wayne Ellis Davis, 59, of Big Island, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  He was born on Thursday, October 14, 1965 to the late Robert Austin Davis and Mary Carter Maxey-Wagner, who still survives.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Winston Thomas Davis & Stuart Ray Davis.


After leaving high school, Wayne went to work at Rubatex with his father, brother and numerous other family members. In 1998, married Christy Lodge, together they raised Jessica, Winston and Harmony on their family land. Wayne loved gardening, outdoors, muscle cars and most of all storytelling for a grand ole time!


In addition to his mother and her husband, Forest Allen Wagner, he is survived by his children, Jessica Goering (Aaron), Winston Tyler Davis (Rebecca) & Harmony Davis; grandson, Wyatt Davis; siblings, Carter Davies, Mary Anne Budworth (Bruce) & Ashley Pickeral (Randy); aunt, Ella Davis; uncle, Sherman Davis; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. 


A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Sedalia Baptist Church with the eulogy given by his son, Winston.  Interment will follow in Sedalia Baptist Church Cemetery.  There is no visitation.
