Dora Elizabeth DeWitt Toms Obituary

Dora Elizabeth DeWitt Toms, 87 of  Bedford, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her children.  She was born on Sunday, May 29, 1938,  a daughter of the late Willie DeWitt and Edith Watson DeWitt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dewey Edward Toms, Jr., her brother Edison DeWitt and niece, Edith Diane Boyd.  She retired after 30 years from the banking business and worked part-time in bookkeeping services. The family would like to thank her caregivers for their love and care during her illness, Tracey Goodman, Debra Hunter and Carolyn Hargrove.  The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford County Fire & Rescue, 1185 Turning Point Road, Bedford, VA  24523.
