Lucy Helen M. Newman, 87 of Huddleston, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.  She was born October 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Joseph Massett and Clara Krencel Massett.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. "Chris" Newman & a brother, Frank M. Massett.

She was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her nephew, Greg Massett; special friends and caregivers, Wayne & Jenny Overstreet, Madison & J.D. Martin & son, Oliver, Riley & Clarice Overstreet, Holly & Lee Hogan & their children, Abby & Timmy and other close friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2025  at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jane Whitehead officiating.  There is no visitation.
