Raymond Davis Ashwell, 75 of  Huddleston, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  He was born on Wednesday, August 9, 1950,  a son of the late Davis Rudolph Ashwell and Abigail Girard Ashwell.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Jamie Ashwell.

He is survived by his wife, Galen Wilson Ashwell; his daughter, Meredith Ashwell; his son, Joseph Ashwell (Kathy); grandsons, Luke & Jake Ashwell; his twin brother, Robert Ashwell (Ellen) & brothers, Bill Ashwell, Andy Ashwell (Sharon) as well as numerous nieces & nephews.  

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Huddleston Lifesaving Crew, P. O. Box 77, Huddleston, VA 24104. 

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 PM on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
