Lewis Edward Stevens Obituary

Lewis Edward Stevens, 83 of Bedford, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Lynchburg Health & Rehab. Center.  He was born on Sunday, January 10, 1943 in Bedford, a son of the late Raymond Edward Stevens and Beulah Bates Stevens.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Goff Stevens and a son, Douglas Edward Stevens.


He was a retired Electrician at Perdue & Walker in Lynchburg and was a member of Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed dancing at the New London Ruritan Club.


Lewis is survived by a son, Ronald Lee Stevens (Ava); daughters, Connie Stevens Lacy-Maxfield (Brandon), Lillian Stevens Bidwell (John); brother, Phillip Stevens (Millie); his special lady friend, Joann Almond as well as ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.


The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, VA 23058.


A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  There is no visitation.
