Carolyn Joy Waldron, 80, of Thaxton, passed away Monday November 20, 2023. She was born on Friday, October 22, 1943, a daughter of the late Nathaniel Waldron & Louise Webb Waldron. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, David, John, and Roger Waldron; son- in- law, Richard (Ricky) Dooley.

Joy was a retired CNA with 45 years of service with Bedford Memorial Hospital and Hospice. She was a member of Peaks Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Dooley; granddaughter, Kimberly Caldwell; great grandson, Jarrett Caldwell; brother, Eugene (Gene) Waldron (Linda); numerous nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank Centra Hospice especially Dr. Beahm, Mary, Ellen, Trinda and Christina.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on **Saturday, December 2, 2023** at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, with Rev. Ann Aichinger officiating. Interment will follow in Peaks Presbyterian Church &. Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
