Obituary of Lee Roy Arthur

Lee Roy Arthur, 78, of Bedford, passed away after a long illness on December 6, 2023, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born on December 26, 1944, in Bedford.  Lee Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Dooley of Richmond.

Lee Roy is survived by his wife, Kay Arthur; sons, Darrell D. Arthur and Michael L. Arthur (Lisa); granddaughter, Alexandra L. Arthur; and a sister, Mary Ann Bell of Richmond. He is also survived by his cat and companion, Tuxedo.

He worked for Moore’s Building Supply, as a warehouse Manager and Cintas as a washroom Supervisor. He was a member of the Virginia National Guard.

Lee Roy was an avid Hockey fan.  He loved Blue Grass music, loved to paint, and loved his computer where he spent most of his time.

He was a loving husband and father. His favorite place in the world was the Outer Banks. He was an easy-going person who loved the simple things in life.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Updike Funeral Home Chapel, Bedford, with Rev. Clyde Billingsley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 11,2023 at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
