Obituary of Teresa Parrish Lavoie

Teresa Parrish Lavoie, 56 of Bedford, VA passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024.  She was born on Wednesday, August 23, 1967, a daughter of the late James Earl Parrish and Laura Jean Craig Brads of Bedford who survives.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Melinda Gale Hale.

Teresa was known as the "black widow" and enjoyed gardening, refurbishing furniture, farming, traveling and camping, especially at the beach and was the life of the party.  She also enjoyed being with and loving on her grandchildren.  

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Laura Jean Mawyer (Carson), Amy Rene Mawyer (Dustin); mother, Elaine Kennedy Parrish; her step-father, Vincent Brads; sisters, Angela Overstreet, Patricia Jones, Crystal Stuart, Ellen Parrish; brothers, James Parrish, Timothy Parrish; step-brother, Timmy Brads; as well as 5 grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at New Beginnings Pentecostal Holiness Church and a funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Richard Kingrea officiating.  Interment will follow in the Holy Land Cemetery.
