Rosa Dale Parker North, 93 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Saturday, March 3, 1923 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Joseph Samuel Parker and Cora Lucy Markham Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeff F. North, Sr. and a son, Jeff North, Jr., her brothers, Henry Parker and Willie G. Parker and sisters, Manie Frances Carter, Anita Mae Stanley and Virginia Rucker Farley. She was retired from Bedford Weaving Mill and was a member of Bedford Christian Church.
She is survived by her sons, Franklin Loyd North of Lynchburg, Edward Allen North of Hurt, Gary Michael North of Forest, Mickey McCrea North of Bedford as well as fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Road, Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 beginning at 11:30 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the chapel with Rev. William H. Moore officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
