Brenda Martin Petersen, 53 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on Tuesday, December 31, 1963 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Herman Martin and Gloria Agee Martin.
She was employed as Office Manager for Laughon & Johnson, Inc. for twenty-one years.
She is survived by her husband, Mark John Petersen; her son, Jonathan Richard Petersen; her brother, David Wayne Bolen & his wife, Kim & their children, Derrick & Tori; her aunts, Vannie Sue Hale & husband, Edgar, Mary DeWeese; her special four legged friend, Meeko as well as several other family members & many friends.
The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bedford County Animal Shelter, 1307 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, VA 24523.
The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a memorial service will at follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
