Obituary of Ruth Whorley Hensley

Ruth Whorley Hensley, 97 of  Lynch Station, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sunday, April 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Garnett B. Whorley and Clara Robertson Whorley.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Crowder Hensley, two brothers, Warren B. Whorley, Watson B. Whorley,  and a sister, Mabel W. Wills. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Wallace L. Hensley & wife, Gaile of Lynch Station; her daughter Janet H. Hawkins & husband, Ray of Forest; a sister, Mary Ashwell of Bedford; and three grandchildren, Somer Dunevant & husband, Mark, Matt Hawkins & Jordan Hawkins; two great-grandchildren, Luke Dunevant & Lacey Dunevant and Special Care Giver, Sylvia Cundiff. 

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Luther Lemon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
