Obituary of Barbara Gibbs Craig

Barbara Gibbs Craig, 86 of  Bedford, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017.  She was born on Tuesday, October 28, 1930  in Flemington, NJ, a daughter of the late Samuel Earl Gibbs  and Margaret Wilmer Gibbs .  She was also preceded in death by husband, Clarence Warren Craig, two sons, Ronnie Craig, Randy Craig, and a daughter, Bonnie Dale Craig. 

She was a Retired Switchboard Operator at Bedford Memorial Hospital and a member of Longwood Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah C. Massie  & husband, Chip of Bedford; four grandchildren, Scott Craig Massie, Dorinda Dawn Massie, Jason Massie & wife, Veronica and D.J. Massie & friend, Joe Hickey; four great grandchildren;  two brothers, Kenneth Gibbs of Richmond, Samuel Gibbs of Bedford;  three sisters, Violet May Stewart and Gwendolyn Craig of Bedford and Thelma May Stinnette of Lynchburg.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at Longwood Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ross Gilfillen officiating.  Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 18 from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford .
